Level: Case Study

This presentation will demonstrate a semantic enterprise platform that provides a natural language query solution for the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (WDEQ). With Semantic Search, a Natural Language Process (NLP) consults a layered set of ontologies to map a user’s common-language request into a database query language (eg, SQL). Results are formatted and returned to the user’s browser or mobile device.

It will also demonstrate a new method of mapping Ontology constructs “on-the-fly:” Dynamic Concept Mapping (DCM). This exciting new technology is employed by simultaneously multicasting a single information request to multiple disparate data sources. DCM employs a novel "conceptual join" approach to merge database query result sets from disparate data sources, based on common base concepts. The audience will see an end user exploring and merging facts returned from the disparate data sources into actionable information.
